In her role as Chair of the UKHFCA, Amanda recently presented the case for an inquiry into the role the hydrogen could play in the UK’s future decarbonised energy system, to the Science & Technology Committee, here

The inquiry would aim to show the value that could be derived for the UK by positively including hydrogen in a range of policies, including carbon reduction, air quality improvement, energy resilience and security, particularly showing that our future system will be more cost effective with positive support for hydrogen than without.

For ULEMCo’s business and customers, having access to renewable, low carbon and low cost routes to sourcing hydrogen and the ongoing development of hydrogen refuelling infrastructure would enable fleet managers and commercial vehicle operators to drastically cut their carbon emissions at the same time as ensuring they retain the full utility of a conventionally fuelled vehicle. We strongly welcome the focus that may come from a UK wide injury on this subject.
