Visitors to COP26 in Glasgow are viewing the world’s first hydrogen fuelled ambulance, created by ULEMCo, the UK hydrogen fuel pioneer, and their partners. Interest is strong in the working prototype vehicle, which incorporates a hydrogen fuel cell in the powertrain, can be refuelled quickly and is capable of up to a 300-mile range.

We are so proud to be showing the hydrogen fuelled zero emission ambulance along with our partners at the GreenerNHS stand in the Innovation Zone.

Following what is believed to be another world first for ULEMCo with hydrogen fuelled aircraft tow trucks, we have begun completion of engine testing work on a 115kW equivalent engine to demonstrate zero emission in a similar operation This will allow scale up to the use of the technology for a range of small trucks.

ULEMCo is proud to be part of the NHS England / Greener NHS exhibit at #COP26 in Glasgow at the end October. This important event will put a clear focus delivering net zero, including the role of hydrogen fuel. ULEMCo announces the kick-off of their collaboration with Teesside International Airport, RAF Leeming, and Newcastle University, which will extend the adoption of hydrogen fuel in another specialist vehicle type: airport ground support vehicles.
