ULEMCo and Exogen Collaborate to Accelerate Global Hydrogen Transport Deployment

ULEMCo has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Exogen Hydrogen Solutions to collaborate on delivering practical, scalable hydrogen innovations to international markets.

The agreement marks a strategic step in expanding beyond the UK, combining ULEMCo’s proven hydrogen dual-fuel products and services with Exogen’s expertise in building global hydrogen ecosystems and partnerships.

Under the collaboration, the two organisations will proactively target markets where hydrogen supply and demand can be developed in parallel, addressing the well-known ‘chicken-and-egg’ challenge that has historically slowed hydrogen adoption. By aligning transport solutions with fuel infrastructure development, the partnership aims to unlock commercially viable pathways for fleet operators to transition away from fossil fuels.

ULEMCo brings a strong track record of delivering real-world hydrogen applications available today, including dual-fuel upgrades for commercial road vehicles, off-road machinery, and mobile refuelling solutions such as HyTANKa®. These products and services enable fleet operators to reduce emissions significantly, and to access cost-effective hydrogen while avoiding the operational and the up-front implementation risks associated with full new vehicle and asset replacements.

Exogen Hydrogen Solutions brings specialist expertise across the full hydrogen value chain, from upstream production and midstream logistics to downstream industrial applications, combining proprietary techno-economic models, EU regulatory knowledge, and a proven capability in complex decarbonization project coordination.

Together, the companies will focus on regions where hydrogen clustering can drive early adoption, including markets such as Bulgaria, which has recently secured funding for its Hydrogen Valley initiative. These environments provide ideal conditions to demonstrate how co-ordinated infrastructure and vehicle deployment can create sustainable hydrogen ecosystems.

As operational manager of the Hydrogen Valley, Exogen has developed a replicable delivery framework for multi-stakeholder, multi-year H2V programmes, integrating strategy, feasibility and infrastructure advisory into a single mandate.

“Partnering with Exogen allows us to extend our proven hydrogen solutions into new markets where the conditions are right for rapid adoption”, said Amanda Lyne, MD of ULEMCo. “By combining practical vehicle technology with coordinated infrastructure development, we can help fleets break free from reliance on increasingly expensive fossil fuels.”

“Our strength lies in bringing together the right partners to make hydrogen projects viable at scale”, said Saverio Costanzo, MD at Exogen and H2 Valley Coordinator. “Working with ULEMCo enables us to integrate proven end-use applications into the ecosystems we develop, accelerating the transition to clean energy globally.”

This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to delivering hydrogen solutions that are deployable today, commercially grounded, and capable of supporting the global transition to net zero.
